Review of Play Golf Better Faster: The Classic Guide to Optimizing Your Performance and Building Your Best Fast
[Following is a volunteer review of "Play Golf Better Faster: The Classic Guide to Optimizing Your Performance and Building Your Best Fast" by Kalliope Barlis.]
Play Golf Better Faster is a book written by Kalliope Barlis, a motivational speaker, best-selling author, and award-winning producer. It’s a simplified guide to dramatically improving one’s golf game. It also includes the author's personal story on how she reached a pro golfer level in just two years.
There are some things I enjoyed about the book. The first is a simple introduction to the NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) techniques. The next thing is how the book was written. The best attributes of the book are smooth narrative flow, clear examples, helpful illustrations, and motivational quotes. The structured form made it easier to follow up on the suggested life changes. I find it worth mentioning that even though the book’s purpose is to guide a reader through their improvement as a golf player, some of the tips and tasks provided could help with any other set goals.
However, one flaw made the reading slightly less enjoyable for me. The approach presented made it look as if it was easy to achieve said level of golf skills. There may be more to it than meets the eye. The achievement of set goals depends very much on the person, not solely on the learning method.
I find motivational books challenging to get through. They often have an overly optimistic view of achieving set goals. That is how I felt while reading Play Golf Better Faster, which is why I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars. Even though I do not plan to become a pro golfer, I enjoyed reading the book and gladly recommend it. I found the guide engaging, and easy to follow. I believe that Play Golf Better Faster is a suitable option for individuals interested in learning how to play golf like a pro and maintaining a positive approach to life.
