Review of Play Golf Better Faster: The Classic Guide to Optimizing Your Performance and Building Your Best Fast
5 out of 5 stars.
"Play Golf Better Faster: The first book titled “Kalliope Barlis’s The Classic Guide to Optimizing Your Performance and Building Your Best Fast” is a performance manual that is specifically targeted at the improvement of the Golf performance for all kinds of Golf players in the shortest time possible. The book is broken down into three sections and each section is geared toward a specific component of improvement.
The first part is devoted to all the aspects of the mental side, the main focus being on developing a winning mindset. Barlis discusses Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) strategies to teach clients how to stop thinking negatively and learn ways that will build the golfers’ confidence. Instead, she tells her viewers her story and real-life examples of how mental strength helps when it comes to the game.
In the second section of the article, Barlis offers a list of the practice strategies aimed at the increase in improvement. She does not entertain those long sessions of practice but for meaningful sessions of practice and she emphasizes more on quality than quantity. The drills and exercises that are prominent in her program are easy to adopt and cover different aspects of the game including the swing and putting.
The last part provides practical tips and ideas on how the golfer can do his best in an actual game of golf. Barlis also discusses practical aspects of a course like course planning, the shots to be played, and getting prepared mentally. She pays much attention to methods that can help one sustain a relaxed state of mind and concentrate during the pressure and provides explanations of how it can be done.
Throughout the book, Barlis’s tone is positive and encouraging, which conveys her sincere appreciation of the sport and her ability to encourage others. To connect the mind and body, of mental and physical, this guide is suitable for any person who wants to increase his or her features or skill levels in golf.
It is not only interesting but motivating to see how Barlis has grown from a complete amateur to a professional in less than two years. Her transformation remains a strong narrative that seeks to prove the efficacy of her techniques and convince the readers that change is possible as a quick process. What more we have such practical drills and strategies from her that any player can start implementing and see instant results.
All in all, “Play Golf Better Faster” is quite helpful, although some players may be intimidated by the sheer amount of focus on mental strategies including the NLP if they’re more of the old-school type. Furthermore, the book is aimed at readers with at least a basic knowledge of golf, making it difficult for complete novices to follow. However, these aspects do not reduce its value and, therefore, the rating of 5 stars is retained.
The editing and writing style of the book is superb; without any errors overall the book is wonderful.
In conclusion, “Play Golf Better Faster” is a comprehensive gem that offers practical information required to enhance one’s performance on the ground quickly. It should be awarded 5 stars for its usefulness, readability, and holistic approach to the psychological and biomechanical sides of golf enhancement.
