Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer
'Reconfigurement' is a guidebook on practical financial planning by award-winning author, poet, and financial and retirement planner E. Alan Fleischauer. As an enthusiast about financial planning, I chose this book to get insightful wisdom about retirement planning.
The word reconfigurement means rearranging or configuring something in a new way to make it more effective and fruitful. In this book, the author clearly explains the importance of properly planning our retirement goals to attain the highest financial freedom in our last days. His method of explaining is suitable for all readers irrespective of their ages. Fleischauer does not believe in a particular retirement age and wants to judge it based on individual potentiality to perform. According to him, as the human lifespan has increased to a great extent, people need proper financial planning before retirement to secure their future.
The author advises his readers to create earning sources after retirement as human capabilities do not end at the age of 65. He also mentions the volatility of pension schemes and suggests different insurances, mutual funds, stock market etc. he explains the role of Social Security in retirement. He talks about Medicare and Medicaid and how to reap optimum benefits from them. He is well aware of inflation and changing situations because of the pandemic.
The author mentions his personal experiences and talks about his clients to make his verdicts more authentic and appealing to the readers. Numerous using of anecdotes make his voice clear and comprehensive. He also cracks jokes throughout his book to provide some fresh air about a serious topic. He highlights various websites about planning. He even talks about the history of retirement age, mutual funds, and different insurances which exhibit his vast knowledge in this field. He informs his readers about the odds and ends of economic planning.
I was greatly influenced by the author's easy, enjoyable as well as prudent way of explaining reconfigurement. He did not overburden his book with monotonous economic discussion but always tried to try to guide his readers to choose the right and most effective path. Fleischauer updated himself about changing situations and adjusted his financial planning accordingly.
Though readers from all over the world can enjoy and get valuable pieces of advice from 'Reconfigurement', this book is more appropriate for American readers. The author mentions schemes and insurance which are exclusively available only in the USA.
However, the book is professionally edited without any typos. I would like to give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because of its lucid and effective method of describing financial advice. I would love to recommend this book to those who want a positive push towards their financial planning.
