"Social Skills Success for Young Adults" by Dallas Brennan is a book that provides strategies to conquer anxiety, excel in communication, radiate confidence, and network like a pro. It offers three ways to overcome anxiety in social settings or gatherings: challenging the inner critic, exposure therapy, and relaxation techniques. Neurological responses such as flight, fight, and freeze contribute to social anxiety. Relevant real-life stories of celebrities like Lady Gaga and Emma Watson are used to illustrate how overcoming anxiety can greatly lead to success.

Dressing well and appropriately for specific occasions helps boost confidence and self-esteem during social interactions or job interviews. Smiling is essential in social interactions for creating a good first impression. The book explores matters such as deepening personal relationships, interacting on digital platforms, and using appropriate words, emojis, and punctuation when using social media. It emphasises the importance of verbal and nonverbal cues in social interactions, especially in conflict resolution.

This book is a fascinating read. I enjoyed the detailed information embedded in it. It is well-researched and organised, tackling important aspects of human social life, and has references at the end of the book. It's organised into chapters, each of which addresses a topic comprehensively. I liked how the author beautifully weaves together physiological and social aspects. I appreciated the explanation on balancing time for social media and time for isolation from it for mental health. The book discusses going dark and navigating post-isolation social interactions. I found nothing to dislike because it was professionally edited and well organised throughout the chapters.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it is educational, especially on the importance of forgiveness in improving relationships and offering peace of mind. I enjoyed learning how to write professional emails with etiquette as a core value. The book is well edited, so I couldn't find a reason to deduct any stars.

I recommend this book to young adults battling anxiety and those with social media addictions. It is suitable for people who often have difficulties conveying their ideas without being offensive. This book is well-researched and educational. I believe it will be helpful to people struggling with social interactions and fearing judgement, especially social introverts, to establish good social relationships.
