This was a very heart wrenching, well written book. I was surprised that a book by a new writer was so engrossing, interesting and complete, with not many grammatical or spelling errors.

The book details the struggles of a mother and son as her son battles a rare disease. One can feel the emotional turmoil that the family goes through, and it is very difficult to experience. I do have to say that the author should have shared more of what they were thinking and feeling, along with the medical procedures that were performed. I also would have liked to hear more about what the other family members were thinking and what they were going through. It was as if they weren't really a part of what was happening. I barely heard of her husband, except as a very peripheral part of things. I forgot that he was involved and thought he had left. The sister and brother weren't really talked about much except to explain their being in the photos.

The author describes in detail the facts about the experience. She uses grammar correctly and I did not find many errors with either grammar or spelling.

This was a well written book overall though, and I would read additional books by this author. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5.
