Play Golf Better Faster: The Classical Guide to Optimizing Your Performance and Building Your Best Fast by Kalliope Barlis

Play Golf Better Faster: The Classical Guide to Optimizing Your Performance and Building Your Best Fast is a book on golf by the former golfer, acupuncturist and Celebrity Phobia Relief Expert Kalliope Barlis. I already read and enjoyed her other book on golf. So, I was tempted to give this one a try.

According to the author, golf is the most challenging game in the world. It is a game where every motion starts from a stillness. The success of golf relies on the calculative power of the brain which promotes the body into motion i.e. action. She opines that mindful thinking about the game even during leisure promotes a positive push in one’s path of acquiring excellence. Physical fitness is the key aspect of gaining perfection. She suggests improving the posture and focusing on the target. She advocates making the holes attractive and innovative to make them appealing to players of different genders.

Barlis shows how both imagination and innovation play vital roles in playing golf. She declares that stillness prepares a player to make the accurate stoke. She mentions specific exercises for golfers to optimize their performances. According to her, self-awareness brings more control over the human body's five senses. The author always tries to do the psychological as well as physical well-being of a golfer.

Barlis provides minute details of every stroke, swing, and shot to optimize the ability of a player. The use of images and illustrations makes this an authentic guidebook for any golf player despite of his or her stage. She decorates the chapters of this book with numerous quotes which make it very interesting and empowering. The reference to famous masters of golf like Annika Sorenstern, Chuck Hogan and Moe Norman adds authenticity to her narration.

I was amazed by the author’s precise and effective presentation of guidance. In the introduction, Barlis talks about her journey through professional golf and it made her book a real treasure for golfers of all levels. I have no negative feelings about this book.

The book is professionally edited without any typos. I would like to give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because it provides holistic guidance to golf players through technical advice and mental susceptibility. I would like to recommend this book to all golfers who want to hone their potential within a short period.
