“Use of the skills in this book is your sole responsibility. If you have any concerns regarding your mental health, seek help from a professional.”
I read this, and I thought, “I will write this in my recension. I like the sincerity and the honesty".
Then I read this: “As the author of three books, she is acclaimed for her great sincerity."
I smiled. It was like the book had read my mind. After this preamble, my review can start.

“Phobia Relief: From Fear to Freedom” is a book written by Kalliope Barlis. The purpose of this book is to identify illogical fears and to deal with them. To win over your fear, you need to change your mindset. Barlis tries to explain how to do it, and, in my opinion, she succeeds. This book is recommended to people who have illogical fears.

I will not lie, this book is my cup of tea. Every day I struggle with fears of every kind, so I really enjoyed this book. I always wish to be understood, she understands me. It was amazing and captivating. I know that it’s not therapy, like it’s written at the beginning, but it was like a hug.

I like her way of writing. She is smart and defiant. I love it. I will do give an example to explain what I mean.
“Shrink him one more time down to the size of a peanut and shoot him off into the distance until you can’t see him anymore.”
She said this about fear of clowns. Seriously?! I don't have this fear, but as I imagined, it was really funny. I am a Harry Potter’s fan, a fantasy book about magic, (I will not add more, because I think that we all know it) and it was like watching the scene of the boggarts. Boggarts are magical creatures that assume the form of your worst fear. To win over them you need to say “ridiculous”. This spell will make them change into something funny and ridiculous. I found this similarity in the book when I read about the clowns turning in a peanut. Also, even if I already read it in HP, I never thought about to do it in the real life. From now on, I will do it. Also, I don’t think that I will ever be able to eat a peanut without laughing.

In the end, the best quality of this book is its length. The book is short and the author gets straight to the point. I read it in a few hours. There aren’t roundabout expressions, just the useful concept. I found it very satisfying. In the book there is also a summary table (page 47) that I want to indicate, because I want to underline the clarity of this manual.

There was nothing to dislike about the book. Well written. Good book's editing. I will use her methods. What can I say more? Oh, yeah...five stars out of five. Recommended.
