Quest : Finding Freddie
Thomas Richard Spradlin
Dorrance Publishing Company

This is a delightful story in which the hero is our author, Thomas Richard Spradlin. This is based on a true story. Richard is an attorney at a prestigious law firm, Clifford and Warnke in Washington, DC. He has just returned from Lagos, Nigeria, working for one of his clients, Ross International Investments. As soon as he gets to his office Mr.Clifford asks to see him.
When Richard gets to Mr.Clifford's office, he is told the story of Frederick David Nachman(Freddie). He and his wife are clients, their company is Nachman International Trading Company (NITC). Freddie is Jewish and a Swedish national. He never applied for US citizenship. He was in Lagos, Nigeria on business until August 14, 1976 when he disappeared. He left his hotel room to go for a walk and never returned. Mr.Clifford asked Richard if he would go back to Lagos to try to find Freddie. He knows it is extremely hard to get a visa to get back into the country, and it will take weeks to do it. He also knows if he tries to get in without a visa, which he will have to do, he will probably be put in the detention center, so he will call Peter, his friend and attorney in Lagos for help. But Richard agrees to take the assignment.
The political atmosphere was tense and nervous that summer of 1976.There were many Generals that thought they should be in power and there were several that were assassinated. Many people were tied to a stake and executed by firing squad. If you were Jewish or had any connection to Israel, you had no chance.
Richard Spradlin is a wonderful writer! He makes his characters come to life. There is great detail in everything he describes.
This book seems to be professionally edited.
