The book, Underdog Thinking: A Bold Idea, A Business Adventure and 101 Lessons Along the Way by Atul Vir is a memoir that leads readers through the very unpredictable world of entrepreneurship. The author begins his story with his humble beginnings in India, and details how he was able to navigate the chaos and corruption of trying to carry out business in Africa to eventually construct a global manufacturing empire. The author shares many specific details of his challenges, his failures, and all of his successes that he experiences throughout his journey to entrepreneurship.

Overall, I thought the book was quite interesting. I enjoyed how the author was able to incorporate several lessons about leadership, resilience, and creativity while retelling his story. I thought that his story was very inspirational and interesting. I also liked the author’s writing style. He was able to write his story in a way that was very engaging to me, and I was able to understand him on a very personal level.

There was nothing that I did not like about the book. The story held my attention from the very beginning until the very end. I also did not find any typos or grammatical errors while I was reading. This is a testament to the exceptional editing that was completed to the book prior to publication.

I would rate this book five out of five stars for all the reasons I stated above. The story that the author told of his life felt very authentic and genuine throughout the book. I enjoyed how the book was a celebration of his journey to success, but also incorporated some life lessons on how to handle feelings of failure and how to be innovative.

I would recommend this book to any readers who are interested in memoirs or self-help books.
