Review of The Warrior's Meditation
Wow! That's what I will say after reading this wonderful and enlightening book on meditation and self-awareness. Richard L. Haight's book "The Warriors Meditation" conveys information to readers about self-improvement, cognitive advancement, and emotional regulation. I can already sense a shift, as if I've learned so much about my mind and body that I'm confident in my ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Meditation is a disciplined practice that, when done regularly, helps us tap into the conscious and unconscious parts of our brain. This informative book discloses to the readers the principles and formless meditation that will prove beneficial to people of any background. It talks about the TEM (Total Embodiment Method), a step-by-step procedure in which our mind pays attention to the present moment and seeks life enrichment and clarity.
I couldn’t find a single reason to rate it less; hence, I will rate it five out of five stars. There is nothing in this book that I dislike. I have noted several positive points. Earlier, I was aware that we could only practice meditation when seated with our eyes closed. But this clarified my misconception. I came to know that we can meditate even while walking, eyes open, and talking. It helped me to know when and how our brain shifts from beta to alpha waves. The author has detailed how our sensory organs work and how we can heighten their function to gain consciousness, including the proper pathways.
The author has included links to videos in which he demonstrates vagal breathing. He has used references from many sites and studies to back up his claim. The author provides a word of caution for anyone attempting to engage in a specific activity. An overview of the numerous techniques involved in warrior meditation is presented, which helps feed that process into our brain. The author is a talented martial artist, healer, and meditator. This setting includes several styles of meditation from Japanese and Indian cultures.
I believe a professional editor edited this piece of work. The author’s writing style is something I truly appreciate. I also liked the Q&A section, in which the author gave answers to many of the questions related to various aspects of life. He has shared his own experiences with the readers and provided examples so that the readers can better connect with what the author is trying to convey. There’s a lot to learn from this book.
I recommend this book to both adults and teenagers. Those who are dealing with troubles or anxieties in their lives can benefit greatly from this book. It will assist people in being more aware of their inner selves and the world around them. I would also recommend this to total beginners in meditation.
