The In-Between by Christian Espinosa is both an interesting and thought-provoking novel that will make readers pause for a minute to assess their lives and try to find any in-between moments in their lives. They reflect on the emotions these moments evoked and consider whether they have conveyed the same feeling to others.

Christian and his girlfriend, Vanessa, had flown into St. Louis from Boston. While driving, they witnessed a blue car and a black truck collide. They get out (him and Vanessa) to see if the drivers of the cars are okay. Reflecting on the accident, his perspective on life shifts, revealing that he had been living in a bubble and needed to approach life differently.

What I liked the most about this book was that the author narrated how he learned to live in the in-between moments and balance his macro and micro-moments. He explains in detail what he learned from the various examples he gives, such as identity, regrets and fulfilling moments. One that he greatly regrets is when his grandfather died and he could not show him his love for him because he was worried about what his family members would see or think of him. Therefore, the book challenges readers to self-assess and determine whether they intentionally act upon these moments.

There is nothing I liked the least about this book. I loved the awakening that readers get from the book. They learn a new perspective from the book and see things through new lenses. The book challenges readers to be aware of the in-between moments and act upon them as they go a long way. Instead of having a negative attitude towards something or someone, embrace them and discover fascinating and rewarding experiences that will astound you. Living in these in-between moments involves serving others, such as starting a conversation with a stranger, smiling, or even being the first to help when no one else is willing. These acts go a long way and mean much to others. From the author's example, we can see how these gestures made him or others feel.

The book is incredibly well-edited since I found no grammatical errors in the entire book. For the insightful lessons learned in the book, I give it a total rating of five out of five stars. Therefore, I recommend this interesting text to readers who want to learn to be mindful and act right in the in-between moments.
