We all happen to face situations where something big happens. We don't know how to react. Maybe someone has done something that affects us, but we couldn't communicate it properly. Maybe we try to be patient until we explode one time. Maybe we're afraid to express our emotions, fearing losing that person. Other times, we just try to hide how we feel about certain situations. Those emotions don't go away and will explode later. A State of P.L.A.Y.S. by Veronica Hislop is here to help us deal with difficult situations and teach us how to properly react and communicate when such a situation happens. Each letter of the word PLAYS resembles a step in the process.

I like that the idea of the book is simple but very important and effective. Many people need this guidance. We need this information about healthy communication. We need to listen to understand, not respond. We need to choose the right time and tone to approach someone. We need to have the flexibility and the courage to honor our mistakes. We also need to understand other people's motives and why they do certain things. The book also helps you not to judge a person or a situation based on previous judgments in your head or rapid conclusions.

The book is highly organized and easy to understand. It delivers its message and is easy to apply. I didn't notice anything to dislike about it. Each chapter was backed up with examples to further elaborate and make things clearer. Those examples connect the ideas to implementing them and deliver the message better. It provides great benefits and helps people communicate better. The book received professional editing. I could only spot two errors. Therefore, I rate A State of P.L.A.Y.S. by Veronica Hislop five out of five stars. I recommend the book to people who would like to learn about good communication in a difficult situation and how to deliver your point of view and understand other people's points of view for better relationships.

The idea of breaking down the process into simple steps using the word "PLAYS" seems very helpful. It's encouraging to hear that the book is well-organized.
