Daniel Friedmann's book, Roadmap to the end of Time, is a non fiction which revolves around explaining history, the present and the future from the supernatural perspective using Biblical information in a scientific and analytical pattern. Adopting the qualitative method of inquiry, it steadily progressed from observing human history and utilized the information gotten from the Bible to forecast the end of the world, however presenting his findings from the Jewish view of Judaism.

The Roadmap to the end of time evolves around estimating the time or period the end of the world will be judging from the Biblical account of the signs of the end. However, as noted by the author, the three Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Islam and Judaism) share relative views of the phenomenon. While all agree that there is an end to all things, when or how it will end has always been in dispute. Thus the author began by capturing history like a glass maze which can be seen as having many paths that leads to the exit(the end). Be that as it may be, the author chose the perspective of Judaism to navigate this glass maze leading to the end of time.

This book strikes you as an Eigesis of the Biblical explanation into the end of the world rather than an Exegesis. Viewing the end time from the Broad Biblical perspective but narrowing it down to a Jewish interpretation is pronounced in the book. The author's interpretation and deduction of the current world period emerging at the end of the 6th day of God's creation, his juxtaposing of the Jewish Calendar and the gregorian to explain this and his position that God's cosmic purpose for creating the world is for Him to have an abode here on earth which man can only achieve by obeying the 7 Noahide laws and the 613 commandments of the Torah all points to Jewish Eigesis. It is my opinion that the author adopted a very fluent scientific thought flow pattern but this pattern contradicts, to a large extent, Christianity as exemplified in the Bible. From the Bible, God's ultimate purpose for the earth was for man to have dominion upon it, even as He(God) has in heaven for we are created in His image. This was achievable for us by law before Christ's death on the cross and His subsequent resurrection which gave us grace in its stead. Thus, the only way to reach our Divine purpose is throughout the grace which only Christ Jesus has given to everyone that believes in Him. This book will be of a great appeal to only the Jewish audience due to these conflicting deductions. I RATE THIS BOOK 2 OUT OF 4 STARS.

My opinion differs significantly from the author's as regard the cosmic purpose and how it can be realized, cited above, the prediction of the end of the world which contradicts (Genesis 1:26-31); the default scenario the author used equally with the absolute will of God which is stands in opposition to (Ecclesiastics 7:13, Isaiah 43:13, John 10:35, Job 9:12 etc) the omission of the New Testament from the Jewish Bible and its non-reference which does not agree with ( 2 Timothy 3:16, Revelation 22:18-19) and the scientific interpretation of the Word of God which gives it a natural perspective over a supernatural perspective contradicts (Isaiah 55:8-9). An accurate understanding and interpretation of the Word of God is not to be assessed based on man's understanding. (2 Peter 1:20-21).

In summary, Roadmap to the end of time is an apt scientific interpretation of time and history to explain and forecast the end of time. It makes an interesting scientific read in Judaism but not one as a Biblical explanation of the end time. God's word says nobody, not even the angels, know when the end will be. We were only provided with the signs of the end time (like the blooming of the fig tree) which will occur like a thief in the night. God, in His supremacy, only reveals what He wants us to know. Whatever He has or does not reveal to us are for His eyes only. That is the word of God regarding the end of time. Attempts by man to interpret what they do not know will only result in a distortion of the truth, leading to errors, confusion and deception. And God is not an author of such.

I like how you tackle this religious book in an equally religious manner. Perhaps, the author is Jewish and writing for a Jewish audience. If that's the case, then he doesn't have a problem. However, if he is writing for a wider audience, which by any chance includes Christians, then he has really limited his work. Thank you for this nice and informative review.

Hello Vivian. Thanks for you post on my book review. Your observations about the author's background were on point and these factors not only placed a limit on his audience but also revealed some of his personal religious preferences that do not really align with Biblical doctrine.
