Author: Morton E. Tavel, MD
Book title:Health Tips, Myths and Tricks

Health tips, myths and tricks is a great book, i love how Morton E. Tavel filled this book with so much content regarding how to eat right and what health tips, myths and tricks are beneficial and true while some are deceitful, and henceforth will not give results of healthy/slim bodies as perceived, for example dietary supplements.

This book is a must read for everyone, should be used as a daily health manual to plan our meals, it has the do's and dont's our bodies would adore, our health should be our treasure. It captures nutritional benefits of the most consumed products such as coffee, which is not all bad as it has some value such as is asthma control among others. I learnt a lot about fish which i find to be intriguing, mostly i appreciated shell fish, which is uncommon in my country, apparently it contains high cholesterol level, may contain toxins and quite a good number of people are allergic to it. Yes common myths about dark chocolate and green tea being healthy are true, include them in your diet. My favourite line in the book 'more berries and more good news'.

Basically the book educates on how to eat right and what works in achieving healthy bodies. The part on dietary supplements is informative, it explains the ineffectiveness of dietary supplements, some usually contain drugs which are not listed on labels. Because the writer is neutral and is not on a mission to promote any health products, both the good and the bad of health tips, myths and tricks are explained without bias. The advice given in the book, is not to take weigh loss supplements as the are unregulated and have high chances of being harmful.

I experienced a paradigm shift regarding hard water, ever since my primary school days, i was made to believe hard water is bad and unwanted. According to Morton the variable amounts of calcium and magnesium contained in hard, which are often deemed as contaminants may promote good health.

It was my first time to hear about wi-fi myth from this book, wi-fi supposedly lead to brain tumors, this i said to be false, the claims have no scientific study and believed to be untrue by medical practitioners. Thank you Morton E. Tavel for an informative read, i rate the book 4 out of 4.
