This book was really interesting and talked a lot about science and philosophy, which are two things that really attract my interest. I would rate this book a 3/5 as I felt it didn’t really meet my expectations. I thought this book was going to cover a few different philosophical experiments, which it did, but I felt as if the author had gotten a bit carried away when writing the first chapter, as it was the majority of the book. It was a good chapter, but it felt as if I had been reading for ages when I had only been reading for ten minutes or so; I think this was because there weren’t many chapters. However, I did like the style of writing the author used; it was very informative and genuinely made the book interesting to read. In the last 30 pages of the first chapter, the book got quite repetitive and was repeating what had been said in the first 130 pages. This made those pages seem endless and quite boring, in fact. Another reason I think this book is a three is because the chapters were quite long; the foreword was 8 pages, the first chapter was 161 pages, then the second chapter was around 11 pages, and after that, the afterword was 4 pages. The first chapter could have been split, as there were many topics covered which weren’t really related to one another, but it wasn’t a massive issue. However, if you’re a reader who prefers short chapters or a reader who is inconsistent or doesn’t like to read rather large chunks, you might not enjoy this book as much as you would have wanted to. I would recommend this book to people who are very interested in science and philosophy, as the book was quite focused on those two topics, as well as some occasional Buddhism. How the author talks about Buddhism isn’t persuading the reader to follow her footsteps; it’s more informing the reader about what she believes and is more for context. The author mentions many different philosophical experiments which are very interesting. The author also explains the uncommon things that she might think the reader wouldn’t know about, and I really liked that as it saved me from having to go and search what it was she was talking about. The beginning of the book I felt was quite unnecessary, as everything said in the foreword was repeated again in the first few pages of the first chapter. I felt as if this book was repeated many times. This book was still very interesting and was very eye-opening; I very much enjoyed reading this. If I had to rate it out of 4, I would rate it 2/4 for the previous reasons, as if I were to rate it out of five, except for the fact that the chapters were quite long. Hope you enjoy reading it!!
