Who Told You That You were Naked? is a non- fictional book written by William E. Combs, a retired Presbyterian minister. This book tackles the origin of sin in this world. The author explains how man became conscious of being naked and that how sin is able to enter the perfect world God created. From sin that separates us from God and how God’s love will bring us back to Him is the message He wants to tell us through this book.

Who Told You That You Were Naked? was a book that tells us what sin really was. From Eve who gave in to the temptation of the serpent to Adam who listened to his wife. Both of them ate of the fruit of the tree of good and evil and that was the beginning of having the knowledge of good and evil. From this moment on sin took over the world. The author explained what God’s punishment for mankind was, but William Combs also explained what God did for man to be able to regain the relationship we once have with Him.

The very thing that I like the most about this book is the detailed explanation. With every fact that he wants to convey to the reader, he will always back it up with Bible verses that will enable the readers to check it themselves. Another thing that I like is the use of personal experiences to be able to explain a thought further. By doing this I believe that the readers would be able to put themselves to the situation that the author wanted to convey. Questions at the end of every chapter for me are good as well. It enables me to think more than what the chapter tells me.

The only thing that I don’t like is the exaggeration on making a story out of the Bible characters. It is okay to add a few lines of conversation to what is already written in the Bible but going too much out of the way of the true story is something I do not like. For those who read the Bible, this kind of story making will confuse the readers. I understand that the author just wants to illustrate the event but instead of understanding the thought the author wants to convey, I got confused.

Overall the book is good. The facts and information are all in accordance with the scripture. I will definitely recommend this book to fellow Christians for additional knowledge and for those who are not yet in Christ to open their hearts and mind to the truth that God wanted to tell us. This book is so informative that I will rate it 4 out of 4 stars.
