The most important thing in human life is health. Knowledge, as they say, is power. This is confirmed in Surviving the Business of Healthcare, written by Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C. This book enlightens readers about the different aspects of healthcare. It discusses how to deal with patients of different types, especially the elderly, and, most importantly, how to maximize the business side of medicine. It goes on to also tell us about the life of Barbara when she lived with her parents.

As I read this fascinating medical book, I got to learn a lot about the medical profession. I also took an interest in the procedures one needs to follow when admitting a loved one to the hospital. It was such an eye-opener for me. Barbara was straight to the point in her words. She didn't deviate or distract readers in any way. She mentioned that she had learned most of her practices from her parents because her father was a small-town doctor who handled his profession well. Sadly, Barbara was diagnosed with skin cancer. How did she battle this disease?

I had a problem with some of the medical terms used in this book. Aside from this, every other part of the book was informative and educational. The pictures added more spice to it, as they improved my imagination. If there was one thing I learned from Barbara's mother, it was how supportive she was of her husband. I think wives will learn a thing or two from her on how to support their husband's careers.

I'll give this book a 5-star rating and would recommend it to caregivers, medical practitioners, and cancer patients. It's rare to see books like this where the author can provide authentic and in-depth information. Her explanations of ailments and how well she listened to her patients made me wish for a doctor like her. I must commend the flawless editing of this book too. It made for fluent reading.
