Richard L. Haight's self-help book The Warrior's Meditation teaches a form of meditation known as the "Total Embodiment Method (TEM)."

The book is primarily divided into four parts. The first part contains the basic principles of meditation. The author talks about the many forms of meditation practiced worldwide. Additionally, the author talks about the different kinds of brain wave frequencies, such as delta, theta, gamma, beta, and alpha. The author describes how, when we meditate, our brain waves change from one frequency to another. In the second part, the author teaches us the basic natural principles of meditation using our five senses. Each chapter is dedicated to each of our senses.

The third part teaches the total embodiment method (TEM). This part also addresses the different obstacles that one may encounter when attempting to meditate, such as resistance, flexibility, and mindset problems. Finally, the author covers many helpful lifestyle modifications and prejudices that we must get rid of in the concluding section.

There are several things I liked about this book. The book's meditation technique is quite original and simple to use, which is what I found appealing. Also, the author uses science and research to explain every facet of meditation. This book taught me a lot of new information about meditation. It also never occurred to me that we could meditate in just two seconds. Wow! I have tried a variety of meditation techniques and have read a few books on the subject. Still, I am excited to give TEM a try.

What I did not like about the book is that some chapters in the second half of the book seem longer than necessary. To make it a more efficient and concise read, it can be further condensed. I have no more complaints other than that.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I have rated it with five stars because the shortcomings I have mentioned do not warrant a lower rating. For those who are willing to try meditation for the first time or who have tried it before but want to learn more, this book is a great resource. Getting this book is a no-brainer if you are aware of the positive effects of meditation.
