Surviving the Business of Healthcare by Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C, sheds light on the changing landscape of healthcare. The author talks about how the bond between healthcare providers and patients is fading, with many now entering the field solely for monetary gain, lacking the passion and care required for patient well-being.

The author stresses the importance of fostering relationships in healthcare. She provides practical guidance for getting involved in the processes of modern medical practices, drawing from her family's history in medicine. The book covers various aspects of healthcare, from comparing drug prices to understanding health insurance plans and selecting primary care providers. The author also talks about contemporary issues, presenting them in an accessible manner for readers to understand easily.

The author’s personal background, including her dual perspective as both a cancer patient and a fourth-generation family doctor, makes the book better. This combination of personal and professional experiences makes the book’s content engaging and very relevant to both patients and healthy individuals. I also love the book’s clarity and abundance of practical tips. The author provides detailed advice on crucial matters such as healthcare decision-making, hospital admission procedures, and proactive health management.

What I disliked about this book was the way the economic aspects of health were discussed. It sounded very boring, and I did not like that about it. However, Regis deserves commendation for her efforts to elucidate complex topics and provide opportunities for readers in various healthcare-related fields. I like its informative yet accessible approach. The book’s genuine desire to assist readers in understanding healthcare shines through. By sharing her insights and expertise, the author empowers individuals to take control of their health and make informed decisions.

I did not find any errors in this book. It was exceptionally edited. I have no major dislike for the book, so I am giving this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to people who are interested in knowing more about healthcare.
