Every family has stories and traditions that are passed down to different generations. For the LaBlance family, commercial fishing has always been their passion and way of life. Beginning in the early 1800s, Peter F LaBlance relays the stories of his family's trials and triumphs in the commercial fishing industry.

LaBlance Fish Tales Two is a book packed with great descriptive narration and a rich historical story. The author tells of his family's journey moving from one lake to the next and how they were introduced to fishing at a young age. The book had many hilarious moments as the author had a great storytelling voice. I liked how detailed the book was when the author described how difficult it was to transport their catch.

The author added pictures and I think this added life to the book and brought color to the story. I liked putting faces to the names mentioned in the book. My favorite tale was when the author tried and succeeded in tricking the authorities. They were over fishing but because they wanted to be a bother, they packed some boxes with fish and others with fishing supplies. The authorities checked and cleared them and once the law enforcers were out of sight, the LaBlance family members went back and got their extra catch.

On the downside, the book was not well edited. There were errors on every page, and that made reading it very challenging. There were also a lot of misplaced and sometimes missing commas that made me unsure of what the author was saying. Another negative aspect of the book was that the chapters and heading were not well organized. It seemed very chaotic. In the last chapters, there was a sudden shift in who was narrating the story, and it threw me off a bit. I think the book needs a lot of editing and organization before it will be ready to be consumed by eager readers. For these reasons, I will give this book a rating of 3 out of 5 stars

People who enjoy sailing, fishing or marine life will find this story worth reading. I would also recommend it to people who like reading memoirs.
