The Warrior’s Meditation by Richard L. Haight

A samurai by heart and a samurai by art Richard L. Haight is the author of "The Unbound Soul", "Inspirience: Meditation Unbound" and many other books. Today we are going to explore "The Warrior’s Meditation" by this warrior author.
Life is a battlefield, and we are all warriors. We stay in this war zone and try every possible strategy to win the war. Meditation is one such strategy to win the battle. It is the earliest stage of human practice for attaining self-control and arousing self-awareness. Meditation has been practised and conducted all over the world for ages. To curb a restful heart into serenity, to calm a turbulent soul, to detangle the puzzles of life, people take shelter in meditation.
The author, in his book, "The Warrior’s Meditation", guides us to the practical path of meditation...how to practice meditation and how to get the utmost benefit from it.
However, meditation is not a specific form or tradition. It is ‘a state of vibrant clarity that comes from deeply integrated present moment awareness.' page 12
The author has explained how alpha and gamma waves emit from our brains through this practice and how differently they affect us. Meditation is the cornerstone of many religious creeds like Buddhism. Buddhist approaches of Vipassana and Samatha relate to the key point of meditation.
Mindfulness is the essence of our happiness. Being conscious of the work that we are engaged in makes it more pleasurable. We should practice this consciousness at every level of our existence, be it our eating habits or any daily activity to achieve full success and serenity.
After reading this book one will be aware of the distinct kinds of meditation like Transcendental Meditation, Zazen or seated meditation, Mindfulness meditation. But at the core of all meditation, they carry a simple single note of coherency and clarity.
There is nothing that I disagree with this book or the author's opinion. This book has answered many of my queries, basically how to meditate, and when to meditate. As meditation does not deserve any specific form or system one can practice it with serene attention, and a composed heart. This book is an immense help for me in my new habit of forming a mindful lifestyle with meditation. The most attractive part of this book is the painstaking guidance of the author regarding time, positioning, place, eyes, and every minute detail that we feel confused about while meditating. The author has not provided superficial guidance that one cannot follow or discard even before starting. But he encourages us to start from nothing and then develop the habit gradually. Every single type of meditation is described with respect of its various parts one by one. You can choose any of these.
There are no editorial glitches. I love to rate this book 5 out of 5 and recommend this book to everyone interested in self-enhancement. At the end of the book, there is a reference to other related books by the same author. So, one can go through them to get more information and instruction.
