Relieved by Cheryl Richardson is a thrilling and creatively written real story about making it work. The book takes us through the story of Debora, a wealthy oil heiress, and her trusted personal assistant, the author. With all her wealth and beauty, Debora lived a weird and mischievous lifestyle of manipulating her way through everything and treating everyone else as useless. On the other hand, while working as her assistant, the author sacrificed her all to make Debora comfortable at the expense of her emotional, physical, and financial state. Sadly, her efforts were never recognized and appreciated. At some point, she felt trapped because she kept returning to work for Debora, even though it did more harm than good to her. How far does Debora go with her manipulative behaviors? How long does her assistant stomach Debora's behaviors and ill-treatment? Get a copy of this book and find out.

The blurb of Relieved enticed me to read this book. The book turned out so well, more than I expected. The character that stood out for me was Debora's assistant. I loved her hard work, patience, and resilience. She put up with so much of Debora's dramas and manipulations to make her comfortable. She was so determined that she wanted to change her boss, but Debora couldn't change anything.

I loved that the book had so many life lessons to learn from. For instance, we understand that wealth and beauty aren't enough if one has no humanity in them. The book portrayed an accurate picture of what some employees go through at the hands of their bosses but still have to cope with it because they need to make a living. A toxic working environment affects and compromises one's well-being if boundaries are not set. However, I detested nothing about this book for the reasons mentioned above.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it has so many lessons to emulate. For example, we learn the need to put limits to what we can tolerate and not lose our self-worth. Furthermore, the author crafted this book perfectly. Its great plot was interesting, spiced up with twists and turns, which keeps a reader on the edge while reading it. Last but not least, the book was well edited since I came across less than ten errors. I couldn't rate it less because of the previously stated reasons.

This book is suitable for readers who love reading books filled with relatable life lessons to learn from.
