The Warrior's Meditation: The Best-Kept Secret in Self-Improvement, Cognitive Enhancement, and Stress Relief, Taught by a Master of Four Samurai Arts by Richard L. Haight is a guide to meditation and its application in real life. I want to begin the review by saying that, as someone who lives in a fast-paced world where stress and challenges are an integral part of life, I believe that this book is a must-read for everyone. I have encountered so many people of all ages who are perpetually under a lot of stress. Stress can manifest itself in various negative physical or mental problems. Meditation is one of the most powerful and important tools that we can use to ground ourselves and fight against stress.

I started reading this book with very high expectations, and I can confidently say that the book exceeded my expectations. The author has trained under samurai and different martial arts masters for decades. Meditation is an important part of martial arts, and the author has shared his learnings through his book.

The book is divided into four parts and twenty-three chapters. The first part is named “Principles of Meditation.” It includes topics and exercises that would help you shift to an alpha brainwave for a better experience during meditation. Similarly, part two is named “Natural Meditation Portals,” part three is named “Basic TEM Practice,” and part four is named “Daily Life Applications.” The book is heavily focused on TEM (Total Embodiment Method). If you want to learn more and have powerful experiences while meditating, I highly suggest getting a copy of this book.

Let us talk about the positive aspects of the book. There are way too many positive things about this book, and it is not possible to list them all. This is one of my favorite books in the non-fiction genre. This book has something to offer readers who have never meditated in their lives and are new to it, as well as readers who have been meditating for years but want to learn more. The book is extremely well-edited. I could not find even a single error.

Now, let us talk about the negative aspects of the book. Honestly, there are no mention-worthy negatives. According to me, the only limitation of the book was that I had to force myself to finish it. The book is very informative, but it is not too engaging for the readers. Sometimes, it felt heavy or a little boring. It would have been a better reading experience if the book was more engaging. There are no other negative aspects of the book.

I will give this book the perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars. There is not a single reason that would warrant the deduction of even a single star. I will recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about meditation. I believe that everyone can learn something new and useful from this book that will improve their quality of life.
