The "Dream for Peace" is a memoir that chronicles the life of a man born in Algeria during French annexation, navigating discrimination and a lack of cultural education. Driven by a quest for justice, he co-founded anti-colonial associations while studying medicine in France. His dedication led to notable achievements in healthcare and science, including groundbreaking DNA research. Transitioning to diplomacy, he advised leaders and orchestrated diplomatic solutions, showcasing his creativity during tense moments. The narrative is meticulous, detailing his encounters with global figures and vivid descriptions of visited places. Despite overwhelming organizational references, the book emphasizes his belief in dialogue as humanity's savior from war's perils. It encapsulates the remarkable journey of a multifaceted individual dedicated to bridging cultural divides and advocating for peace through dialogue and diplomacy.

Using his descriptive skill, he vividly illustrates the societal injustices, clandestine meetings, and harrowing risks that activists face, creating an immersive experience that engages the readers. The memoir's narrative strength lies in its ability to blend personal anecdotes with historical events, presenting a nuanced view of the liberation struggle. Moreover, the author's candid and unfiltered approach to narrating his experiences adds an authentic and raw quality to the memoir. The book doesn’t have any typos or grammatical errors, and it is well-edited. Through powerful storytelling and intimate reflections, the book captures the essence of a movement driven by unwavering determination, sacrifice, and an unyielding quest for justice.

However, there might be some negative aspects worth considering. At times, the narrative's excessive detailing might overwhelm readers with a bounty of intricacies, possibly diverting attention from the main storyline. Additionally, the affluence of detailed descriptions in specific sections could slow down the narrative's pace, potentially impacting its overall flow. Despite these negligible drawbacks, this book deserves 5 out of 5 stars. In a nutshell, I would say Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's "A Dream for Peace" encapsulates an engaging and evocative writing style that draws readers into the heart of the profound historical journey of the author. This book is recommended to all who like book reading; they must try it once.
