This book, "PHOBIA RELIEF: From Fear to Freedom" is written by Kalliope Barlis. The general idea of the book is to overcome irrational fears by facing them and shrinking them.

Kalliope apprenticed under Dr. Richard Bandler, the co-creator of NLP. NLP means Neuro-Linguistic Programming and it's the study and use of successful behavior. Through a consistent and thorough study of his skills, Barlis has been able to master and as well teach the art of choosing how your brain should function.

In all honesty, I underestimated the book before reading it. I must admit that Kalliope's work has exceedingly surpassed my expectations.

Kalliope made it easy to understand that not all fears are meant to be quenched. Those are rational fears. They build consciousness of what you should be afraid of so you can take measures to avoid them from happening.
Also, there are only a few fears that someone is born with, and that includes the fear of falling. I guess that explains why some babies are afraid of being thrown, especially if they are not used to being caught.

In this book, Kalliope Barlis points out common examples of irrational fears and what triggers them. I was shocked to discover that what you feel is your reason for some phobias is actually not. Kalliope unveiled all these theories in her book.

One of the most amazing things about her work is that she does not just state the problem, but breaks it down, explains the psychology behind it, and not that alone but breaks the solution such that it is easy to comprehend and comply with.

In her book, Kalliope mentioned how she downplayed the fears of her clients. Initially, I thought that was a bit harsh but through the book, I understood her point better. Whatever you feed attention grows, so it's better to pay less attention to negativity.

In the course of her book, Kalliope wrote about a certain client of hers. This client was a lady, a mum to be precise and she had a fear of clowns. This affected her relationship and bonding with her kids who would go to the circus without the company of their mum.

Kalliope wrote in detail about the dialogue she had between this client and herself. Each sentence was a journey for this mum to shrink her fears of clowns till they completely vanished. The mum left so happy as she could now view clowns without the knotting pain in her stomach.

Kalliope's work is not just inspirational, but also conversational. Amidst what looks like a motivational speech are practical steps in certain corners of the book to shrink your fears and step into your freedom.

The book sounds personalized. You can easily relate to the contents and it feels like a dialogue between the author and yourself.
It is important to read this book to quench the irrational fears you might have.

Following the set guidelines, you will be shocked by how much transformation you can achieve. I'm still shocked.

This book would be beneficial to you if you are dealing with an irrational fear or a phobia you want to break free from, even if the causes of the fear may seem rational.

I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
This is because the writer's language is easy to understand and her work is quite captivating. The book has been very well edited with no grammar errors which makes it very enjoyable to read.

The only thing I don't quite like is the arrangement of the exercises. They are so similar which makes it more confusing especially if you're using the book for practical purposes. Nevertheless, if you pay extreme attention, it won't be too hard to comprehend.

The beautiful thing is that at the end of the day, the book serves an amazing purpose. As a reader aimed at shrinking your fears, this book's solution is worth it.
