Review of Reconfigurement
"Reconfigurement" by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book about retirement plans and financial planning for elderly individuals. My rating is 4 out of 5 because I encountered a few typo errors. An alignment error on pages 66 to 68 which is confusing to read.
The author covers nearly all aspects of these plans and their benefits from Chapter 1 to Chapter 13. The author has made an effort to infuse humor into the book, making it more engaging. From the crisis narrative to the end of the book, the author focuses on retirement plans and benefits for individuals over the age of 60.
The author begins by guiding readers on how to plan for retirement, discussing the pros and cons of retirement plans, and explaining income status. He also delves into the assessment of planning, the value of work, and how to determine the work that best suits an individual. The author discusses various online tools, particularly Envestnet Money Guides.
Moreover, the author explores topics such as investments, insurance, social security facts, the history of insurance policies, types of annuities, investment choices, IRAs, Medicaid, and Medicare, along with their respective benefits and disadvantages. It accurately explains various aspects of a traditional IRA, including eligibility requirements, tax implications, and required minimum distributions. It's informative and provides a clear understanding of the topic.
The book highlights the financial prerequisites for Medicaid, such as the limits on resources for both single individuals and married couples. This information helps us understand how Medicaid assistance is provided and who qualifies for it. This book serves as an enlightening resource for both younger and older individuals who are looking to secure their financial future.
The author provided a concise overview of budgeting with a focus on using templates available online for free. These templates can range from simple to comprehensive, and the author has outlined essential categories to include in a basic budget template. This is a practical way to manage personal finances. He also mentioned the availability of online tools for budgeting, which can offer more advanced features and convenience.
The author has succeeded in presenting the information in an easy-to-understand manner. Thank you for this informative book, and happy readings.
