The fight for sleep: Pick your battles-Win the war by Thad R. Hambarger, Ph.D

I was very skeptical about this books, as I have been suffering from insomnia for almost 10 years.
I would recommend it to anyone that is suffering from a sleep-related issue.
Personally this book drew me, because no matter what i did, or medicine I took, NOTHING WORKED. I think my wiring is just different from everyone else, as the book explains, no one is the same.
Sleeping pills - keeps me awake.

The explanation in the beginning of the book about insomnia and the different triggers that there are to help you identify the correct problem, were a big help. The map system in this book, pure gold, you didn't have to read the entire book just to get to your problem, you could just skip ahead to your specific problem area and focus on that chapter.

The problem with my insomnia is that I don't drink any coffee or tea to help me in the morning feel awake and alert. I think my body has programmed itself on the lack of sleep. Most nights, I only get about 4hours of good sleep, and I feel rested in the mornings, but after 2 in the afternoon I begin to feel the tiredness setting in. ON weekends I can take a 20min nap and feel great again, but in die week it is a problem at work.

Throughout the book, you can relate to the writers problem. You can see that he also have suffered from insomnia and have tried and tested a few of his guidelines.

The suggestions in the end of the book for the relaxation techniques are also pure gold, who would have thought that a book about insomnia will also give you exercise advise. This book gets a 4 out of 5 from me, but will give feedback again when I have resolved my insomnia problem.
