Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's memoir, A Dream for Peace, comprises a chronological account of all the significant events in his life. Berrah was born in Algeria and studied medicine in France before leaving to fight for Algeria's independence. Indiana University in Bloomington is where he completed his master's and doctoral work in microbiology. He considers himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from numerous Nobel laureates throughout his early training years. He was a professor at the Yale School of Medicine before quitting to fight for world peace. Berrah has achieved incredible and notable accomplishments in social activism and microbiology. Initiating the first-ever covert gathering between Chairman Arafat's PLO and the Israeli Council for Israeli-Palestine Peace, he also negotiated the Israel-Palestine conflict as a diplomat. Among the world leaders he worked with and arranged meetings with were John Kennedy, Fidel Castro, Yasser Arafat, Golda Meir, John Paul II, Mao Zedong, Robert McNamara, and Houphouët-Boigny. His scholastic achievements, diplomatic dealings, and contribution to global peace are all meticulously chronicled in detail. His biography is motivational and inspiring.

Despite having almost 500 pages, this book is quite simple to read. Even though he focuses a full section on explaining his microbiological research, it is written in an uncomplicated way. All the historical events are also described in an easy-to-understand manner so that even a person with zero knowledge about those events can read and understand the book. In particular, I adored the monochrome images since they gave the narrative more nuance and character and provided us with a clearer understanding of his childhood and adulthood. There isn't anything negative about this book or anything I would change about it. The editing is flawless, and I was unable to identify a single fault. So I would like to give it five out of five stars.
