Review of The Ultimate Prepared Bug-In Guide
Have you ever pondered the outcome of facing a major catastrophe, such as a pandemic, drought, food scarcity, volcanic eruption, earthquake, flood, meteor strike, societal collapse, or even a zombie apocalypse? I believe that at some point in our lives, we have all contemplated the prospect of surviving in such dire situations, especially if they were to persist for an extended period.
In 'The Ultimate Prepared Bug-in Guide', S. Lee meticulously dissects every element required to be fully prepared to endure any such scenario. As he aptly states, "Preparation is the key to survival; don't wait for a crisis to strike before taking action, because by then, it may be too late."Lee elucidates the factors that either give us an advantage or place us at a disadvantage, such as group survival versus individualism, localism versus the prevailing globalism, and whether relocating, "bugging-out," or staying put, "bugging-in," during a crisis enhances our chances of survival. In simple terms, The Ultimate Prepared Bug-in Guide can be called "Survival 101".
This survival manual encompasses staying composed under pressure, planning for the worst-case scenarios, acquiring survival skills, adopting the correct mindset, and conducting thorough risk analysis of catastrophic events. These elements will undoubtedly position an individual ahead of the curve during times of crisis.
Prior to reading this guide, I was always uncertain about what to pack and where to seek refuge in the event of an emergency evacuation from home. The author expounds on how to select a secure shelter, or as he calls it, a "Bug Out Location," along with all the essential supplies needed for survival, including food, water, medications, maps, heating and energy sources, vehicles, fuel, communication devices, and weaponry.
What makes this book exceptionally accessible is the author's skillful organization of ideas based on their relative importance and simplification of the supply gathering and storage processes, with an unwavering emphasis on safety.
Remarkably, I have acquired new, cost-effective skills for food preservation, water purification, and energy conservation from this book, which will prove valuable even in scenarios less catastrophic than those described within its pages.
Regrettably, after reading this book, I find myself harboring a constant sense of impending doom. This sensation may drive some individuals toward unnecessary stockpiling, panic buying, frugal living, and living in a state of perpetual fear, potentially precipitating a man-made crisis.
Additionally, I observed numerous typographical errors throughout the book, which could have been easily avoided. The excessive blank pages interspersed between chapters were also superfluous. Consequently, I rate this book 4 out of 5.
Summarily, survivalists and 'preppers' will undoubtedly find this book immensely beneficial, especially given the inclusion of 27 other top online survival resources at the end of the book. Furthermore, considering the inevitability of the catastrophes highlighted by the author, I wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone; acquiring knowledge of how to survive in advance could prove invaluable.
