I will start by saying that if you are going through serious trouble in life (whether it be psychological, financial, or health-related issues), this book is not enough, and it states so throughout. This book can help you find a way to a better place; it can be an aid in the process of getting better, but it is not the only tool you want to use to overcome your obstacles. I appreciate that the author is not trying to pretend this book is the key to a better life and that she advises us to get professional help, depending on our Misogi. She emphasizes getting support, not only from professionals, but also from friends, even strangers who share your goal (if your goal is not strictly personal).

This book is as useful as any other self-help book; I liked that it does not pretend to give your life a drastic turn. There are no fantasies here about getting you to achieve an unrealistic goal. The author states clearly the expectations of committing to a Misogi Ritual -according to the philosophy in this book- and she reminds us that regardless of reaching the goal or not, your ritual will still be a success, because the point of a Misogi Ritual is to take you out of your confort zone. It was a refreshing stance, comparing it to all the pretentious books out here.

I can't say I dislike it; it's a self-help book, this matter is subjective.

What I did not like about the book is how much the author pushes you into reading the rest of her books. I know we have to be proud of our projects; there is nothing wrong with that. I also know that in this day and age, it's all about selling and profit, but in my opinion, it was a little excessive. Again, there is nothing wrong with promoting your work, but let it speak for itself. And there were a lot of spelling mistakes; I'm sure I did not catch all of them, especially grammar mistakes.

I rate this book 4 out of 5. It's very dynamic and centered, true to what a self-help book should be. I just got an issue with the self-promoting; I couldn't look past it, and I could not care less for the interviews we have to read towards the end, but the links to the TedTalk are appreciated.
