"Desparate times calls for desparate measures" a quote that perfectly narrates the shocking true life story of Vernon Baumrind, a husband torn by his wife and her gynecologist deceitfulness, and how he used an unauthorized approach to deal with the burden and secure a win.

Adulterous wife Linda and degenerate gynecologist Dr James Ewing, a friend and neighbour to the couple, were discontent with their sickening affair, their last-ditch plan was to leave him destitute.
Life would have been tolerable for Vernon without Linda, even without his business and properties but he couldn't bear the agony of losing David and Jaden, his kids were his existence .

When the ones he loved and trusted became adversaries(Linda and Ewing) unknown persons in Charles Ray, a private investigator and Jan Warner, a domestic attorney became his saving grace . The protagonist in Deceit Vernon Baumrind being the real life author of the book, take us us on a three week chronicle whereby the strategy he employed for a custody battle became a precedent for future family disputes, at a point in time where father's prospects of winning a custody battle were very slim or unheard of .

I definitely recommend the book, it is the type of book which is difficult to put down once one opens the first page, as it is so thrilling, it arouses a curiosity of wanting to know how each step of the chronicle unveil and that strong sense of rooting for the protagonist. As a reader one pants for a victorious end to the story it is so emotionally engaging all the way to its end.

I rate the book a 4 out of 5, it is a genuinely good story, as it changed history in that the judicial system was transformed in domestic disputes, fathers where empowered by being granted equal statuses as mothers based on surrounding circumstances, which is a huge victory worth being celebrated in society. There is a lot to be learnt in terms of triumph over trauma of separation, starting over and the importance of recognizing our priorities in life.
