Dr Rachel Sims has dropped some major knowledge bombs in this book 'Love Smart or Love Stupid' whilst breaking down common misconceptions about love and relationships, offering witty and smart advice on how to navigate the often-tricky waters of romance. Dr Sims' voice is fresh and engaging, making this a fun and informative read. And the quick reference summaries at the end are a lifesaver. It's like your sassy best friend, giving you the tough love you need, but with a whole lot of humour and style. Sims isn't afraid to call out common dating pitfalls and help readers avoid them, making this book a valuable resource for anyone navigating the dating scene.

As regards the rating, it's a solid 4 out of 5 for me. It's a 4 because it's a well-written, thought-provoking guide to negotiating the vicissitudes of modern love, full of practical tips and revelatory epiphanies into the psychology of relationships. I appreciate that it's no-nonsense, yet also empathetic and empowering. I deducted 1 from 5 because it can be a little dense at times, but if you're willing to put in the work, it's a great resource for anyone looking to up their love game. I didn't notice any glaring typos or errors. It was pretty thoroughly edited. However, there were punctuation typos here or there that slipped through the cracks. That said, none of them stood out as super noticeable or distracting. Overall, I would say the writing is pretty clean and polished.

My two critiques are that the book could have dug a little deeper into some of the topics, affording further elucidation. Additionally, some of the examples feel a bit outdated, which makes me wonder if the advice still retains its pertinence in today's dating landscape. Overall, the book is a witty and insightful read. A solid read for anyone looking to up their love game.
