A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a compelling memoir. This book chronicles his remarkable journey from his humble beginnings in a small Algerian village to his significant role as a freedom fighter and peace advocate. Set against the backdrop of Algeria's struggle against French colonial rule, the memoir paints a vivid picture of his dedication to fighting discrimination and violence.

The memoir begins with the author's upbringing in Algeria during a tumultuous period of French colonization. The injustices he witnessed and experienced firsthand fueled his determination to become a freedom fighter. Despite facing numerous challenges, he secured an academic scholarship to study medicine abroad, which further deepened his commitment to combating discrimination. Throughout the narrative, the author's transformation from embracing violence to advocating for peace shines through, becoming a key theme in the journey and serving as an inspiring lesson for readers to choose peace over violence.

Having read this book, one of the best elements is the realization that violence cannot solve violence. This powerful message resonates in today's world, where conflicts often escalate due to violent responses. The author's personal growth from a violent mindset to a peaceful approach is a poignant and enlightening journey. Additionally, the inclusion of actual pictures enhances the storytelling, providing authenticity to the events described. The educational aspect of the book, which sheds light on lesser-known historical facts, is commendable and enriching. The author's writing style was easy to understand. The book title got my attention the most.

I found no errors while reading this, but some of the things I disliked about this book that were not enough to remove a Star from it were the initial bulkiness of the book, which might discourage readers from reading it. And also, due to the font size of this book, some readers with bad eyesight may find the font size a bit difficult to read.

I will rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to lovers of history, memoir enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a powerful narrative of personal transformation and the pursuit of peace. With its well-written content, educational value, and impactful message.
