A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a novel that tells the author's story. It is about the author's life and his effort to make the world better and more peaceful.

Dr. Berrah was born in a small town called Aïn Beïde in 1938. At that time, his country Algeria was under French rule, making life very difficult for the Algerian people. As a young boy, he had a simple dream — to become a famous horse rider. Unfortunately for him, life had a different plan in store. He became famous, but for another thing — fighting for his country's freedom and peace worldwide.

The book discusses how Dr. Berrah went from being a medical student to a freedom fighter. He wanted Algeria to be its own country, free from the rule of France. To achieve this, he formed and joined groups trying to make this happen. For example, there is a part in the book where he describes how he and his friends organized protests and marches to stand up against French rule. These actions were risky, but Dr. Berrah and his friends believed it was worth the risk to fight for their rights.

Later, he got involved in making peace between different countries and religions. He worked as President Houphouët Boigny of Côte d'Ivoire's advisor and peace ambassador. One of the challenges he faced was when he had to travel to a conflict zone to try and find a way to bring peace. This wasn't easy because the parties involved had different beliefs and opinions, but Dr. Berrah did not give up. He kept trying to find common ground and help them see the value of peace.

I enjoyed reading this book because it showed me how one person can make a big difference in society. Dr. Berrah's writing style was also easy to understand, and he tells his story in a way that makes you feel like you are right there with him. The book also has pictures that help you see the places and people he is talking about. My favorite picture was when Dr. Berrah was sitting with President Houphouët Boigny. They looked really serious like they were discussing something important.

Even though I enjoyed reading this memoir, I felt it was too lengthy. Some parts were a bit long, like when he describes his travels in detail. I wished these parts were shorter so that the story would keep moving faster. But overall, I learned a lot of lessons from this book. Dr. Berrah shows that even though making peace is hard, it is really important. He believes in young people and thinks they can improve the world.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is well-written and exceptionally well-edited. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about African history, different countries, and how to work for peace.
