The Warrior Meditation is written by Richard L. Haight. It provides a practical guide for a new type of meditation called the Total Embodiment Method (TEM), also known as the Warrior Meditation. Meditation is a practice that is very advantageous for its practitioners. It provides relief from stress of the daily life and improves immunity and calmness. But traditional methods of meditation require some time to be set aside for practice, and this may not always be possible in this fast-paced world.

Therefore, the author, Richard, with the help of his martial artist teacher, Shizen Osaki, has developed a meditation practice that can put the practitioner in a meditative state in a matter of seconds. This meditation method is inspired by the Samurais who have to develop a calm state of mind instantly on a battlefield.

The author first explains the changes that happen in the brain when one enters a meditative state. He also explains the difference between concentration and awareness. He then goes through the importance of each of the sense organs in meditation and gives exercises so one can use each of the sense organs to get into an alpha state of mind. Then the author guides the readers through the practice of spherical awareness. Combining them all gives us the Warrior Meditation.

The author gives a scientific explanation for every method he suggests to the reader. Instead of just giving the steps for the TEM meditation, he goes to the background of martial arts and meditation, which helps the readers to understand better the practice they will be embarking on. I liked the chapters on the consciousness of the senses. In these chapters, the author thoroughly explains the working of the senses and how they can help us reach a meditative state. I also liked how the author has also explained the lifestyle adjustments that have to be made to make meditation more effective.

There is nothing I disliked about this book. I couldn’t find any grammatical errors or typos. The book seems to be well edited. There is no violence or profanity. There are no erotic scenes.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars because the TEM meditation seems to be really effective, and this book is an excellent guide for that practice. I recommend this book to readers who are looking for a good guide on meditation. This book would be equally helpful for beginners and advanced practitioners of meditation.
