Review of A Dream For Peace
Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's memoir, A Dream for Peace, is a thorough account of his life that offers readers a look into his world. Berrah always knew he wanted to have an influence on the world while growing up in Algeria. He concluded that, after pursuing a medical degree, learning diplomacy was his higher calling. Berrah's life of service included more than just that, though. Aside from that, he also led the Algerian freedom movement and worked as a diplomat for the Ivory Coast. This book, A Dream for Peace, details every experience that Berrah had, including some of his blunders.
Dr. Berrah can be summed up as "well-rounded," for example. There is little question that reading about the author's experience over time will encourage readers. Dr. Berrah developed an enlightened perspective on the world by preserving and valuing people from backgrounds other than his own. He is a devoted Muslim, yet his wife is a Catholic Christian. He also had friends who belonged to different religions. This book incorporates the comprehensive open-mindedness that was so obviously a part of Berrah's life. Berrah spoke with authority and knowledge of his position as a leader in the world. I thought his writing style was perfect.
This book has a lot of positive aspects. I was able to see parallels and distinctions between how politics were conducted in the past and the present because of Berrah's presentation. He outlined the value and significance of diplomatic missions in fostering international harmony and peace. The book explained how a country's decision might have a variety of effects on the world. His story seemed more realistic thanks to the use of images. He collected information about several nations during his travels, and this is a priceless source of reference for individuals researching international and global trade. His story transported me to several nations, and I was able to see the exchanges between authorities as if I were there with him. The idea that I was reading nonfiction from a writer who had experienced important events in global history, such as wars, the liberation of nations, elections, and the killings of political leaders, delighted me. The book's subtitle was highly appropriate since the author carried out his vision by encouraging harmony and peace both within and among the governments of African nations, including Algeria.
I gave A Dream for Peace a 5 out of 5 star rating since I could find nothing negative about it. Everything in it was engaging to me, from the detailed depictions of all the political and personal situations to the unforgettable historical biographies. I didn't find a single mistake in the book, which speaks highly of its exceptional editing.
Except for the desire to engage in conversation and find areas of agreement so that different faiths may live together, which is a lovely idea, there was nothing particularly religious or dedicated to a particular belief. I recommend it to those who are interested in learning more about Dr. Ghoulem Berrah and are ready to read a lengthy yet comprehensive biography. It will also appeal to readers of historical fiction.
