In DentistryXposed, Dr Peter Hoffman reminds us that the mouth is our signature organ. Our smiles are often the first thing people see; it can make or break that first impression. In addition, taking good care of your mouth can lead to good health. In contrast, bad oral care can have dire effects. However, dentists can be expensive which often makes teeth the lowest priority on many people’s list. Is there a cheaper solution? Dr Hoffman certainly thinks so.

This book is not only an informative read with regards to dentistry, but also a comprehensive ‘how-to-guide’. There are easy things you can do to take care of your dental health. These include choosing healthy snacks, brushing twice a day, flossing, using mouthwash, etc. Although some of these are common knowledge, they are often overlooked.

Dr Hoffman, a dentist with 43 years of experience, details his observations of previous clients that came to him with dental issues. According to him, many of the problems his patients developed could have been avoided. Although tactful in his approach, careful not to tread on any toes, Dr Hoffman holds the dental industry accountable. Often, his patient was given wrong advice by another dentist. Therefore, he highly recommends always going for a second opinion before having any dental work done. Sometimes, procedures like fillings, crowning, etc, can make the situation worst.

Personally, I learned a great deal from this book. I have always taken an interest in dental health because I love smiling. This book is a plethora of dental health information. It answered so many of my questions. I believe anyone who reads DentistryXposed will be better off for it.

My only major issue with the book is the editing. I don’t believe it was professionally edited at all. It contains countless spelling and grammar mistakes. However, these can easily be fixed with a second and third round of editing.

I rate DentistryXposed by Dr Peter Hoffman 4 out of 5 stars. I am only deducting one point due to the spelling and grammar mistakes. I recommend this book to everyone because taking care of your dental health is essential!
