France had colonized a lot of African countries. Algeria was one of them. Like every country that wanted independence from its colonizers, Algeria yearned for the freedom to rule itself and make decisions for itself. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was one of those people who saw a future in which the Algerian people could govern themselves. So he turned to activism. In this book titled A Dream For Peace, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah writes about his ordeal in his fight for a free Algeria and a better country for his countrymen and women. He tells us about the people he met at home and abroad and what it meant to fight in the war against an enemy far more powerful than them. He told of his dream of a country free from the shackles of colonization.

A Dream For Peace is a book that every person who is interested in studying the history of countries that have been colonized should read. It is also a book that highlights how things work in the diplomatic space. In this book, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah talks about his diplomatic meetings with African leaders and how he brokered peace agreements between them. I have never taken an interest in diplomacy between countries, but I was intrigued and fascinated by the way the author handled things in his own time.

I also love his bravery and strong desire for a free country and a free Africa. He inspired me to want to fight for what is right. The way he wrote this book is something that I must talk about. He wrote it in simple terms, making it very easy to understand. Of course, since this is Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's autobiography, he talked about a lot of things other than his fight for a peaceful Africa. It was like he held me by the hand, took me into his past, and showed me how he lived. He provided details about his life and familiarized me with significant events that happened when he was a young man. Those stories are what I liked most in the book. A Dream For Peace is a true leader that people should look up to.

A Dream For Peace was a long read, but there was no moment where I felt the urge to stop reading it. I was intrigued by everything I saw and the amount of information about Algeria, Africa, and the author's life that was written in this book. I was even more surprised that, despite having hundreds of pages, there was not a single error in it. It was edited exceptionally well. I must commend Dr. Ghoulem Berrah because this is no easy feat to achieve at all. Therefore, I'll be honest and say that I did not dislike anything since it had no negative aspects. Also, because I did not dislike anything at all, it deserves the highest rating I am currently allowed to give it, which is 5 out of 5 stars.

A Dream For Peace is a book about fighting for freedom from the hands of colonizers. Therefore, I recommend it to readers who are very interested in reading books that show first-hand accounts and experiences of people at the forefront of fighting against the colonizers. I also recommend it to readers who are interested in Algerian history and would like to know the sequence of events that took place before they were freed from France.
