During our formative years, many of us were constrained by the cautious nature of our parents, who often prioritized our safety over the allure of exploration and adventure. Their constant warnings to remain indoors stemmed from their concerns about security and the potential risks beyond our homes' safety. However, the author of this story had the fortune of a different upbringing, where freedom and discovery were encouraged rather than stifled.

In the realm of dreams and aspirations, Tina and her husband Peter stood united with a shared vision of traversing the globe, hand in hand. As their wanderlust grew stronger, Tina, Peter, and their two teenage sons, Adam and Warren, eagerly prepared for an extraordinary undertaking called the South Pacific Expedition.

Within the pages of this book, Tina Dreffin masterfully weaves together the tapestry of her life and that of her family, inviting readers on an extraordinary journey of discovery. One of the most compelling aspects of the book lies in Tina's unwavering love for adventure, which radiates throughout every chapter. As readers, we are granted a glimpse into Tina's soul, connecting with her profoundly. Through her words, we understand the intricate beauty of her wild spirit, which she initially believed set her apart from those around her. However, fate intervened, and she crossed paths with her kindred spirit, Peter, who wholeheartedly embraced and cherished every facet of her untamed nature.

What truly resonated with me in this book was the author's childhood, marked by a constant sense of movement and exploration. Growing up, Tina and her family relocated frequently, attending different schools and immersing themselves in the vibrant cultures of South Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and North Carolina. This nomadic lifestyle instilled in Tina a profound love for adventure and an insatiable curiosity for the world. Tina and her two sisters embarked on countless adventures in their family's trusty companion—a weathered Volkswagen Beetle, as they traversed new territories. These escapades in their beloved car symbolized the freedom and boundless possibilities that lay beyond the confines of their home. The author's reminiscences evoke a sense of longing in those confined to the indoors during their childhood, igniting a yearning for the untamed exploration that Tina and her sisters were fortunate to experience.

What I disliked about this book was how sometimes, during the early stages of the story, the preparations for the trip and all the talk about the dream of exploring the world began to feel too much and made me feel bored at that point. I found no grammatical or spelling errors, meaning the book was exceptionally well-edited. I recommend this book to readers who love to read about adventures. Furthermore, I would rate this book four out of five stars because of my dislike.

This was an adventure driven with alot in mind. Everyone has a reason why the embark on adventure but then, the adventure of Tina was one of the best reasons for adventure.

This is one memoir that the author was brutal and honest with her narrative. How she overcame her challenges and chased her dreams is something worth emulating.

The author is an amazing writer. I was sad at her early plight but was finally happy that she got a best friend and her husband along with her two amazing sons.

Peter and Tina sound like an intriguing couple. There's something satisfying about having a partner that shares the same interest with you. I will like to read about this couple and their wanderlust. Interesting review.
