A Dream For Peace is a memoir that was authored by the late Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. He was born in 1938. He lived till he was 73 years old. His life was remarkable. His parents, Hamadi and Lalla, had six children. There were three daughters named Fifi, Missa, and Yasmina. Ghoulem had twin big brothers named Hassan and Hussein. One passed away at birth and the other passed away seven years later. Ghoulem's father passed away two years after the death of his last twin son. The tragic beginning of Ghoulem's story wasn't all that defined him. He was also defined by the structure of politics of his home country of Algeria. This shaped him to be who he was, which was all written so well in the memoir.

The memoir covered different phases of the author's life. He was born in Algeria, but he did some studying in France and the United States of America. The majority of the memoir covered his life in Côte d'Ivoire. He worked under President Felix Houphouët-Boigny as an advisor. Their relationship was one of the highlights. They formed a bond that was based on respect and honesty. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah grew to rely on the wisdom of the president.

I also enjoyed the details he shared about his meetings with some of the world’s most known politicians. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was a man who loved people. He also loved peace. Peace was what he took with him wherever he went.

I spent days reading this book and wondering what to say in the review. I felt the pressure of finding flaws so that I could have a balanced review, but after I finished reading it, I realised that I didn't have anything written down under the "negative" heading of my notes. I thought that this was a great book. I would even say that it is one of the most impressive memoirs I've read. I loved it very much. It was edited incredibly well, too. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

The majority of the book was political tonally, and I think that that was reason enough for me to recommend it to readers who love politics, political figures, and history. I think that a love of memoirs would also be beneficial.
