A Dream for Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah focused majorly on the struggles of decolonization of African countries, especially Algeria. It is quite surprising that a particular person contributed so immensely to the struggles. Now in a particular field, I can understand but Dr Ghoulem contributed to so many fields of life. How wonderful can that be??

It explains the parts he played throughout that period. He started as a loyal son, Medical Doctor in training, activist, lawyer, Scientist, and Special Advisor. All these and more are the roles he played depending on the circumstance needed at that time. He never got tired of acquiring knowledge to be able to help when needed. He was not only a major activist in the struggle for the decolonization of Algeria, but he was also the first scientist to give a hypothesis on what later became known as the "Reverse of Transcriptase Enzyme".

Dr. Ghoulem in his memoir started by explaining his background and origin to help the readers understand who he is and where exactly he is from before moving on to his contributions and challenges. Even when his mother died, it still didn't stop him from fighting for what he believed in. I specifically loved his passion for not just his people but other struggling countries at large. He focused on a war that others were too scared of not minding the constant target he had on his back.

Even after much consideration and critical examination, I didn't see what I could condemn in the book. The author took it step by step making it easier for everyone to understand and flow throughout the book. Besides, it is fair to say that there was no error in the book hence it was well-edited.

After realizing that there is no error in the book, I, therefore rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it helped give the readers insights into what happened behind the scenes. I recommend it to Historians, political leaders, and lovers of colonial stories.
