A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a captivating memoir of the life of Dr. Berrah. It tells of Dr. Berrah's life—the challenges he faced, his happy moments, and all the things he accomplished in his life. Born in Algeria before it gained independence, Berrah witnessed so much racism against Algerians. His mother made sure to instill the value and importance of education. To further his studies, Berrah got admitted to a university in France. However, before the completion of his degree, there was an incident that led to his arrest in Spain. After his release, he immersed himself in the fight for peace. Read this book to discover the journey Dr. Ghoulem Berrah embarked on to achieve his dream.

Having witnessed racism firsthand, Dr. Berrah actively participated in the fight for freedom. Even as a child, Berrah didn't tolerate acts of racism against himself. In school, he joined the UGEMA association, and after his time in France, he founded the association at other universities he attended.

I loved the passion Dr. Berrah showed for his job and for the people he encountered. He was always there to help them; he even treated their animals, which were their means of livelihood, as well as he could. Dr. Berrah's positivity steered him toward influential people.

Dr. Berrah also made scientific advancements. He traveled to different countries, and the culture and cuisine of each country were mentioned in detail. I found it a fun way to learn about other countries.

His marriage with Titi was admirable. He clearly showed an interfaith marriage and how they made the marriage work despite the challenges they faced at the beginning. The love and support they showed each other is no different from any regular couple who truly love each other.

This memoir was well-written and narrated in detail. All the events were written so well that it almost felt like I was watching them unfold. The pictures and documents included gave the book a more realistic feel. For these reasons, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I found just one error, which showed that this book is professionally edited. There was nothing to dislike.

I recommend this book to those who enjoy reading about politics. Also, political activists will enjoy this book, and lovers of memoirs will find this memoir interesting and educational as it was well-detailed and all the events were explained in depth.
