Dr. Ghoulem Berrah wrote a memoir titled A Dream For Peace. His life in Ain Beida, Algeria, where he has lived in beautiful circumstances with a very close-knit extended family since infancy, is chronicled in the book. His first experience with colonialism came in the classroom, where it seems like kids are purposefully taught to ignore their native traditions. Eventually, he relocates to Bordeaux to pursue medical school there. His engagement in the struggle for Algeria's independence began in France. He started advocating for Algeria's independence and territorial integrity.

His activities ultimately take him to Morocco, where he practices medicine in Taounate. He engaged in combat alongside fellow members of the Moroccan Liberation Army. Dr. Ghoulem continued his quest for peace and freedom even after his nation attained independence. He contributed significantly to the establishment of peace both within and outside of numerous African countries.

The book is a rather long read, but that is to be expected, I suppose. The author's complete life is chronicled in the book, from his early years to all of his career-related accomplishments. It would be impossible to cover all of this in depth in only a few pages. I particularly adored the author's readable and thought-provoking writing style. With excellent language and vivid imagery, he captures the essence of his experiences in his writing. The book's flavor is enhanced by the inclusion of images, which provide readers with a window into the author's life.

Nothing in the book bothered me. The book was beautifully written. Also, the book was flawlessly edited, as I did not encounter any errors. I rate A Dream For Peace 5 out of 5 stars. I was very impressed by the book, so it deserves a perfect rating.

I happily recommend this book to political activists and readers who enjoy nonfiction
