Review of A Dream For Peace
During the era of colonization, the Whites always viewed Africa as a sad place and a dark continent. A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is an eye-opener to me about the issue of colonialism in Africa. This book reveals the life of a great man and phenomenal leader in Africa. The lowly man was a citizen of Algeria and fought earnestly for the liberation of his fatherland. He had so many experiences from the harsh subjection of France to his people. Ghoulem was born in the period when Algeria was captivated by France. This affected the national values and beliefs of the people as they were forced to accept other people's lifestyles. Ghoulem witnessed that suffering and was determined to free his people from such bondage.
He went to study a medical course at the university. At that point, he formed a group of revolutionists who pursued the same vision as him. Ghoulem was intimidated by official and unofficial candidates for him to quit. But he persisted in enduring until he achieved his aim. His messages centered on national and African unity, abrogation of colonialism, and total freedom. The untiring question becomes, how did he achieve those challenging goals? Grab a copy of A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah and find the answers.
This book interested me greatly, and I learned valuable lessons from it. Every leader must experience hardship that constitutes a genius. The author of this book experienced unjust attacks, manipulations, and severe harassment because of his persistent desire. His state government imprisoned him, yet he refused to stop advocating for peace. I enjoyed such a resilient spirit from Ghoulem. It truly motivated me to further my goals with the power of persistence and determination. I liked how he ardently followed his rules till he attained his vision despite the threats he encountered several times.
While I read this book, I realized that the main aim of Ghoulem was to ensure unity in Africa across all cultures and religions. He was indeed a great leader with visible results for his teachings. Ghoulem was different from other leaders who preached one thing and did another. He ardently lived up to the standards of his teachings. I was wowed when I discovered he married a woman from another religion. But it proved his sincerity for peace, liberation, and nondiscrimination among his people. I enjoyed the original pictures I saw in the book. The author has a unique way of presenting his thoughts, which helped construct the plot of this book.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I did not observe any negativity or dislike while I read the book. This book was exceptionally well-edited, with no grammatical errors or mistakes. Finally, I recommend this book to every reader that prefers to read real-life stories or experiences of people rather than reading fictional tales. Readers who enjoy historical doctrines would fancy this book thoroughly too. Historical students could benefit significantly from the pages of this study.
