Lost Child by Charlie Blakely is the story of a girl who suffered a toxic relationship with her mother. The girl discovered that her mother suffered from a narcissistic disorder that made her deal with her daughter in a harsh, estranged, and disturbed way. On the other hand, the girl loved her mother and wanted to prove this to her in every way. But all her attempts failed. The girl used many methods to understand or protect herself and confront her mother's turbulent behavior, such as fighting, flattery, or freezing. In the end, the girl tried to commit suicide because of her mother's behavior, which caused the deterioration of her health, education, and social interaction.

I consider this book an essential resource for people who want to learn about narcissism disorder, its characteristics, behaviors, and tricks. This book is a reference that explains everything through a realistic story, experiences, and events. At the end of the book, the author presents many solutions and different treatment sources used to confront narcissists.

I did not excuse the girl during her twenties and thirties for deviating from her behavior towards suicide attempts and homosexuality, even though the mother had a role. At this stage, awareness and perception increase to distinguish right from wrong. I was going to add to the writer the first solution to the problem of dealing with narcissists, which is to know that every attachment to anyone other than God will either be broken or end and that the only close relationship is with the Creator alone, for He is safety in the chaos of this earth.

This book is well edited. It is supported with important information that is narrated smoothly. Had it not been for the writer's belief that we do not need to embrace any religion as a solution to recovery from narcissism, I would have given the book a complete score. Therefore, the book deserves 4 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book to readers who deal with narcissists and want to know more about this disorder.
