Review of A Dream For Peace
[Following is a volunteer review of "A Dream For Peace" by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah.]
A Dream For Peace is a biographical account that chronicles the life of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, a prominent Algerian diplomat. Dr. Berrah was born and raised in Algeria, where he experienced racism during his school years. This experience fueled his desire to see his country liberated from colonial rule. He pursued higher education in Bordeaux, France, where he met other individuals who shared his political beliefs, and he became an active participant in the movement. The book raises the question of whether Dr. Berrah ever accomplished his goal of seeing Algeria become an independent nation.
Berrah was a dedicated advocate for peace and freedom. His role as a special aide to President Felix Houphouet in Côte d'Ivoire gave him a platform to promote peace and work towards the development of Africa. His accomplishments in the fields of science and politics were impressive, making him a significant figure. Reading this book was truly inspiring, especially the parts that chronicled his personal journey, including how he met his wife, his unwavering commitment to his goals, and his sacrifices for love. The book's numerous illustrations added an enjoyable touch to the reading experience.
There were several aspects of this book that I found particularly compelling. The story was engaging, and the author's narrative voice was expertly balanced between conveying expertise and humility. This is a challenging balance to strike in most autobiographies, and the author pulled it off quite nicely. The moment I laid eyes on this book, I was immediately drawn to its title, which was cleverly chosen by the author. I found myself engrossed in the story of the special bond shared between Berrah and his mother, which was evidently an integral part of his life. However, what truly impressed me about this memoir was Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's steadfast determination to strive for justice, peace, and progress, which serves as an inspiration and a ray of hope for those looking to make a positive impact in the world. There was nothing I disliked about this book. There were only two errors found. Therefore, I would give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
