Surviving the Business of Healthcare by Barbara Galutia Regis is a book about healthcare generally; it talks about the benefits and importance of healthcare and how it directly affects our lives. Healthcare costs have increased dramatically over the years, and we as the general population must find a way to take care of ourselves as the government is not capable of fully providing healthcare for everyone. Many of us live in negligence and on hopes, which is not a good practice. This book opens our minds and brains to various ideas and ways we can choose a health care provider, select the best health insurance provider, and adequately budget for it so that we don’t develop or face any health challenges that may cost us all our finances or possibly our lives.

She created this self-help novel from her over twenty years of experience in the health sector, where she worked as a physician assistant and also as a fourth-generation family health care practice provider, to help patients choose a health care provider that does not only provide help in times of emergencies but also gives them a listening ear and cares whenever they need to express anything of concern, ranging from the smallest of discomforts. She advises us and teaches us about how there are different specialists for different types of sickness and illness, the importance and changes that have happened to health care insurance, and why she believes the government needs to restructure the health care system in the United States of America. The most important thing she said in the book is that we should look out for ourselves and not keep quiet but rather be verbal and communicate with our personal chosen health care provider.

What I like about the book is how she was able to communicate her feelings and concerns to the readers effectively and thoroughly without using medical jargon to complicate our understanding.

There is nothing I did not like about the book, as it was exceptionally written and edited.

I am giving this book five out of five stars. I recommend it for anyone who values their health and wishes to learn one or two new things about health care and its system.
