In "The Stealthy Viral Pimpernel" Bernard Heys delves into the issue of "silent killer" viruses in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. Drawing from his over 56 years of experience studying bacteria and viruses as a systems engineer, Heys examines historical attitudes towards viruses and highlights the need for better preventative strategies to manage virus outbreaks. Heys takes a critical stance on the United Kingdom government's approach towards combatting Covid-19, which, according to Heys, failed to consider all factors involved in controlling the spread of the virus.

The book is a testament to the author's patriotic spirit and his desire to contribute to the fight against the pandemic. Heys' qualifications to provide informed opinions on the subject are evident in his extensive experience studying viruses and developing solutions for infection control. Heys' book is a helpful tool in understanding the shortcomings of the strategies adopted to control the pandemic. It is evident that Heys deeply researched this issue and provided insightful details of the actual state of events.

Heys highlights that the two-meter social distancing strategy and the stay-at-home order were not wholly effective strategies for infection control. He believes that the government had not considered all factors involved. For instance, research has shown that droplets from sneezes and coughs carrying the coronavirus could travel up to eight meters, making the two-meter social distancing strategy unrealistic. Similarly, the stay-at-home order became counterproductive for the poor masses, whose cramped living conditions promoted the spread of the virus. For these people, staying out in the open with fresh air would likely have decreased their chances of infection.

Heys apportions blame on the UK government for many unnecessary losses of lives. He is critical of the government's slow implementation of better strategies to combat the virus and their lack of accountability for their actions. Heys believes that the government has not fully considered all the perspectives involved in the virus prevention, making it ill-prepared. Heys boldly calls on the government to be accountable to the people they serve in honesty and integrity. Heys' struggle to get renal failure and diabetes patients added to the high-risk list is an indication that the government has not fully considered all the perspectives involved in virus prevention, making it ill-prepared.

Heys' book is a call to action to the UK government, and by extension, to all world governments to establish better strategies that would control the outbreak of future pandemics. One helpful element of this book is that Heys includes poems he wrote to help keep children informed on steps to keep them safe during the pandemic. However, the book's readability is marred by numerous unpunctuated, long, and unclear sentences, making it a struggle to read and understand the content at times. Despite this, the book is recommended for readers seeking a deeper understanding of the pandemic, but a strong understanding of English is necessary. It deserves 3 out 5 star rating.

In conclusion, Bernard Heys' book, "The Stealthy Viral Pimpernel" provides an insightful examination of the incursion of viruses labeled as "silent killers" in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. The book highlights the need for better preventative strategies and criticizes the UK government's approach towards combatting the pandemic. While the book's readability is hindered by numerous grammatical errors and unclear sentences, it remains a helpful tool in understanding the shortcomings of the strategies adopted to control the pandemic. The book is a call to action to all governments to establish better strategies for controlling future pandemics.
