Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, born in Algeria during a time when it was colonized by the French, tells his story of how an ordinary child would grow up to do incredible things. As a young boy, Berrah was bright, and he did very well in school, earning him a scholarship to study medicine in France. While there, he would bear witness to racial discrimination that would set him on a path of political activism to free his home country from the French colonizers. Dr. Ghoulem goes on to fight the good fight in order to bring about peace in his lifetime. This is the incredible, true tale of an extraordinary man who has done extraordinary things. A Dream for Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a must-read.

This story was written so eloquently that I could feel the author’s emotions through the pages. It was inspiring and empowering to read the true story of someone who made a difference, not just for his home country but for others as well. I like how much detail the author put into this memoir in order to create a clear picture of every part of his life. I also like that he included actual pictures and memorabilia throughout the book, which I think gives this book even more credibility. This is a great book that I believe should be more popular than it is.

There was nothing that I disliked about this book. After I finished reading this memoir, I was shocked that I had never heard of Dr. Ghouem Berrah before; his story is definitely one that deserves public recognition. Even though it was a longer book, it was worth every second I spent reading it.

I found no spelling or grammatical errors while reading this book. It was exceptionally well-edited and incredibly well-written. This is so far the best book I have read this year. I rate it five out of five stars.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about history, politics, and memoirs.
