Dr. Ghoulem Berrah wrote a book titled A Dream for Peace. He recounts his life's journey in his book, beginning with his early years. He gives a detailed account of his upbringing, his family, his faith, and his area. The book comprises seventeen distinct chapters and a total of 644 pages. He shares the traditions and morals that his mother instilled in him when he was a little child. He attributes his mother's achievement to him.

I really like how the author was able to express his opinions on many life situations throughout the book while also being really honest with his sentiments. He discusses with readers his career as a diplomat and the difficulties he overcame along the way. On the many powerful figures he dealt with, he offers his unvarnished thoughts. I was moved by the author's bravery and commitment to working for the betterment of mankind throughout his whole life. He was never scared to speak out for what he believed in. I was astounded by his selflessness and tenacity in making sure that his people always received benefits and weren't subjected to oppression. He had an outstanding sense of religion and loyalty to his nation.

Reading about the author's connections was interesting. He had one unsuccessful marriage before he found the love of his life. However, their marriage was not possible given the circumstances. He enters into a new relationship, adding to his history of failed marriages, but he never gives up on the woman he has been crushing on. He describes how, on the weekends, he would fly and drive considerable distances to be with his girlfriend. Obstacles were exacerbated by the girl's parents' opposition to their relationship.

There was nothing about the book that I disliked. Reading the memoir was enjoyable, and I felt a connection to Dr. Berrah because of it. Despite their being instances of extreme violence and fatalities, I did not come across any profanity throughout the novel. I thought the photographs were a lovely touch and a welcome supplement to the text.

I give this book a score of 5 out of 5. I think the book was very well edited since I found no grammatical mistakes. Because the memoir offers a wealth of information about post-colonial Africa and its political processes, I suggest it to fans of historical non-fiction. The novel should not be read by anyone who is easily offended by murder and violence.
